The position 

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be part of a small, well-functioning team who support our ongoing operations. The position offers challenges in a busy environment and is based onshore in Aberdeen. Some travel may be required for training and supporting operational requirements.

We are looking for strong candidates with a mechanical or hydraulic background. Experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry would be advantageous.


Responsibilities

  • Have a high focus on safety and work in accordance with HSE regulations at all times.
  • General maintenance of Welltec tools including redressing, electrical checks, fault finding, repairing, and modifying non-conforming equipment.
  • Ability to identify and communicate technical problems and perform complex tests with minimal instruction.
  • Maintain records and communications as required by Company procedures.
  • Participate actively in quality improvement efforts associated with Welltec Tools.
  • Drive forklift (training will be given if required).
  • Be part of an on-call system and have a flexible approach to working overtime at short notice.
  • Assembly and mobilization of equipment.
  • Conduct all activities in accordance with the Integrated Management System Policy, Procedures and Work Instructions.

 

The candidate

  • Competent with mechanical and hydraulic systems - Able to assemble, test, and maintain hydraulic systems components according to engineering instructions, technical manuals.
  • Competent with electrical testing equipment and the ability to understand electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Highly motivated individual who is willing to work under pressure and in varying conditions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages.
  • Hold a current driving license.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Positive and creative appearance with the ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Must have strong communication skills, capable of liaising with different departments within Welltec.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as and when required, particularly during busy periods, to support business needs.
