Preserving the environment remains an essential part of our business, culture, and growth strategy. From the factory floor to the seabed, we’re developing innovative solutions and practices to minimize negative impacts and advance sustainability. Our main contribution is enabling oil and gas operators to lower their environmental footprint through smarter, more efficient well technologies.

Welltec tools are engineered for long-term use and reliability, supporting operations and maintenance for many clients over several years. We apply a comprehensive maintenance program—performed both locally at operational bases and at specialized maintenance hubs—using a tiered approach depending on tool usage. When possible, existing tools are upgraded to newer models through targeted upgrade kits, extending their service life even further.
At the end of their lifecycle, all tools are returned for assessment, and 100% of metal waste is sold as scrap for recycling. This ensures valuable materials re-enter the supply chain and supports a circular economy across our operations.
We continuously improve our processes to reduce waste and optimize resource use.
Energy efficiency: At our headquarters in Allerød, Denmark, and across our operations, we continuously invest in energy efficiency. This includes the use of solar panels, advanced heat pump systems, automation and robotics in manufacturing, LED lighting, upgraded equipment, and improved building insulation. Together, these initiatives have significantly reduced our energy consumption and carbon emissions, supporting our commitment to sustainable operations.
Water efficiency: In 2024, Welltec introduced advanced demineralizing technology at our Allerød headquarters, significantly reducing water consumption in production processes. This upgrade saves approximately 400,000 liters of clean water annually, supporting our commitment to responsible resource use and operational efficiency.
Recycling initiatives and waste management: At our headquarters in Denmark, we sort and process a wide range of waste fractions to maximize recycling and minimize environmental impact. Metals, plastics, electronics, wood, cardboard, and paper are separated for recycling. Used oils are upcycled into new base oils. Organic waste and residual waste are delivered to municipal and state systems, where they are processed for biogas generation and energy recovery.
Through these efforts, we ensure that valuable materials are kept in circulation and that our operations contribute to a more sustainable, circular economy.
Our primary contribution to environmental protection is through technology: Welltec solutions help oil and gas operators reduce their environmental footprint in the field. Alongside this, we continuously improve our own resource management and emissions performance.
We also support nature and biodiversity through targeted local projects, such as tree planting in Indonesia, beach cleaning in Malaysia, and coastal vegetation protection in Brazil. While modest, these initiatives reflect our intent to contribute positively to the environments where we operate.
