Minimize environmental impact

Engineering new energy solutions

We believe in a fair and inclusive energy transition.

That is why we are applying our deep industry knowledge in new energy solutions to prepare for how we can produce more sustainable energy in the future.

As an already trusted and reliable partner to multiple clients within the oilfield, we are also aiding clients within new energy and climate technologies with a focused approach on geothermal and carbon capture and storage (CCS) projects.

Completion technologies for new energy

Through continual development of our completions portfolio, we are expanding on knowledge from high CO2 EOR projects and high temperature geothermal applications to create advanced systems that meet the increasing global demand for Carbon Capture Storage (CCS).

Welltec is taking an active role in meeting with CCS operators globally, bringing vast experience of well construction and maintenance to industry advisory boards, government strategies and Development and Engineering (D&E) funding programs.

Intervention solutions for new energy

Our unique intervention solutions can be deployed in new energy wells, in particular geothermal systems, to help clean out such wells and improve productivity. Our debris removal and clean-out solutions that utilize tools like the Well Miller, have a long and successful track record of more than 18 years of removing scale and debris from oil and gas wells. These services have direct applications in geothermal wells.

Also, the small, fast, and efficient deployment of our intervention solutions makes it easy to deploy these tools in versatile environments and sometimes populated areas. Thereby limiting overall footprint and disruption to nearby properties, minimizing the negative impacts on the environment and helping to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

A steppingstone for more sustainable energy

While oil and gas will remain a key part of the world’s energy consumption for many years, we believe that by applying our knowledge in new energy systems, we can help take the first steps towards exploring new energy sources that may provide more sustainable and long-term alternatives to the energy sources we have today.
