Retrievable bridge plug
The TORDEN™ High-Expansion Plug is a retrievable bridge plug designed for wireline, slickline, or coiled tubing deployment.
Featuring an ultra-slim running OD, TORDEN™ passes through narrow wellbore restrictions (upper completions, straddles, nipples, valves, etc.) before anchoring securely in larger casing, liners, or tubing.
Conforming to ISO 14310 V0/V3 standard configuration, the plugs provides secure gas-tight sealing performance for critical barriers potentially avoiding additional well kills or use of cement. In additional to safety critical applications, the TORDEN™ can be used within production enhancement and intervention applications where time saving and reliability is key to successful outcomes.
TORDEN™ is run to depth maintaining its slim OD and is set via industry standard tooling where an expandable adapter centralises the plug chassis ahead of the slips anchoring where the element is compressed through expandable backups and thereafter only left in place once full setting force is achieved.
Once in place, the V0 barrier can withstand differential pressures up to 275 bar (4000 psi) at temperatures up to 110 °C (230 °F). In harsh environments the materials can be selected to suit most well environments.
During retrieval, the industry leading feature of TORDEN™'s through mandrel equalisation allows a safer more reliable pulling of the barrier eliminating the uncertainty of pressure balancing ahead of mechanically unsetting the plug which negates potential elastomer damage or premature un-anchoring in over or underbalance situations.
All TORDEN™ plugs are compatible with Welltec’s intervention suite and personnel, allowing to deploy the plugs in combo-run, saving rig time and cost.
