Solar panels installed at Welltec HQ
Welltec HQ in Allerød, Denmark, has had a significant portion of its roof space fitted with solar panels, supporting energy needs on-location as well as feeding into the main power grid.
The project to install the technology has been two years in the making and includes a total 1,238 panels, forming a working surface area of 2,690.9 m². Each panel is made up of smaller units called solar cells – these work by absorbing and converting visible light into electrical energy. With an expected total annual production of 501,079 kWh, additional benefits derived from the panels include a CO2 reduction of more than 100 tons per year, equivalent to the yearly consumption of around 260 people. Minimizing footprint has always been one of the fundamental principles engineered into all Welltec products and services, and we will continue to look for new ways to further implement this mindset throughout.
