The department 

You will join our D&E function to provide leadership and set direction in a team of 6-8 engineers as direct reports. However, you will be involved broadly in the daily management of the complete team working side by side with the D&E Senior Manager.



The position 

The role holds great potential for the right candidate for personal development and especially for developing your leadership skills as you will be responsible for your own projects, people management, and stakeholder management and also act as substitute line management when relevant. For this aspect in particular close cooperation with existing management will be key to your success.

The team that you will join is responsible for the development and maintenance of Welltec’s proprietary well intervention technologies ranging from our Well Tractor with more than 20 years of service time to new and innovative technologies which we constantly introduce to the market through our global footprint.

You will also be part of a leadership team for the whole D&E function in a globally diverse company with over 60 nationalities in total. You will be reporting directly to the Senior Manager of D&E.

To be fit for the role, you should be a person who likes to lead teams and projects through involvement and structure. You like to take responsibility and you excel equally in both technical and leadership challenges.  

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • People Leadership of 6-8 skilled mechanical engineers
  • Collaborating across Welltec with our peer functions and global areas - including Commercial, Global Operations and our international D&E offices in Brazil and Poland
  • Own and manage technical projects through all development phases
  • Conceptualization and feasibility studies
  • Provide your guidance and input in your specific expert areas across the whole organization
  • Create strategies for process/technical improvements and drive the implementation of these with the rest of the leadership team

 

The candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who gets excited by technology, people and challenges. In order to perform well in this role, you should also have the following qualifications or similar competencies: 

  • Minimum a bachelors degree in a relevant engineering disciplin - such as mechanical engineering, energy engineering or oil & gas. Alternatively, you have practical experience that is relevant for the job
  • Experience leading people or projects playing a central role in driving projects by being responsible for the project process, content and day-to-day stake holder interactions, etc.
  • Experience leading a team with focus on implementing improvements and developing people and team(s)
  • Strong presence & people skills
